Sparkle and Shine..Happy New Year!!!

Cards by sugarpaper.com

Happy almost New Year everyone! Is it already 2013? Ready or not it's here, and I for one am excited about the possibilities the new year holds.  Although I was sad yesterday as we packed up the last of our Christmas decorations, I couldn't help but look forward to ushering in a new 365 - more exercise, more blogging, and more time with my family are on my short list. My long one looks pretty similar to last year's, but that's okay - if at first you don't succeed, try try again right? I wish you all love, joy, professional satisfaction, and unexpected kindness (both given and received) in the new year. We'll be spending a quite night with family and a few friends. I'll leave you with a few sparkly and shiny pieces I'm loving for everyday life. After all, why should we wait till NYE to jazz things up? Have a great night and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  Oh, and if I end up making a quick trip to the market, I just might throw on my full-length fur coat and sequined beret a la Carrie Bradshaw circa 200(?)...just a thought:) xx Jen

Glitter Salad Set, $38, leifshop.com.

Although perfect for a New Year's Eve party, these shouldn't stay in your drawers for the other 364 days of the year. Birthday parties, dinner parties, a good report from a teacher, or just a run of the mill Friday night, these serving spoons will add some ummph to even the most basic salad.

Moutoncollet earrings, $285, modaoperandi.com (available until Jan. 10th)
Each year I always make a resolution to let myself push the envelope a little further, especially when it comes to my accessories. I'm a big fan of Moutoncollet jewelry - beautifully bright stones assembled in art deco patterns are right up my alley. And the good news? Their 2013 pieces are available for pre-order on Moda Operandi until January 10th. You pay half when you order and then the other half when they ship (sometime between February and June)...it almost makes it seem like they are 50% off:)

Jimmy Choo Vikki glitter-finished leather pumps, $416, netaporter.com.

I'll happily take Jimmy Choo's version of Dorothy's ruby red slippers and I know I'd wear them every chance I got.

Leather IPad mini sleeve, $60, etsy.com.

If you were lucky enough to find the new IPad mini under the tree, this hand stitched leather case will make you smile every time you pull it out of your purse.

Dress with Sequined Hem, $35.99 (sale), zara.com.

When it comes to fashion sometimes a little sequins can go a long way, especially when they are paired with a neutral like black.  I loved this dress when I first saw it at Zara and now I'm glad I waited - it's on sale! If you want more sequins, check out these shirts (here and here) I just picked up at J.Crew - can you say blang blang?

Gold triangles drinking glasses (available in gold or silver), $63, dwellstudio.com.

We've resolved that 2013 will be the year we will get back to hosting regular dinner parties at our house which we did regularly P.K. (pre-kid). I always mix and match my china patterns for company and these would be great for cocktails when our guests arrive.

Happy New Year, Jen! I'll take the gold tumblers, the glitter serving spoons, those heels (and I don't even like heels!), and that dress. So pretty much everything glittery and gold. What a great and stylish way to ring in the new year! Can't wait to see what 2013 brings you. Lots of happiness to you & yours! xo
