Perfectly Purple

My favorite color is purple. Has been since I was about 4 and my allegiance has been unwavering. Couldn't live without my purple Esprit sweatshirt in Jr. high, wore purple for high school dance competitions, my bridesmaids donned purple at my wedding, and a purple tie-neck blouse is my go-to top when I'm in trial. So when it comes to decorating my house, its only natural that one of the first colors that comes to mind is - you guessed it, purple. So far I've used it only as an accent color, with purple ikat pillows in my living room and purple Moroccan place mats in the breakfast area. But lately I've been thinking of going bold. I mean REALLY bold, like committing to a purple wall or maybe a large piece of furniture. There is such a richness and depth in this color that is unlike any other. Maybe that's why it is the color of royalty. Here are a few of my favorite interiors that are pushing me to take the plunge. What do you think? Would you make a bold statement like some of these in your home?

This is close to perfection when it comes to a living room. A girl can dream.

Aren't so many of those rooms just simply stunning? As I continue to ponder my purple plans, I also wanted to share with you a little news on the professional front. Next week I'll be starting a new position at work which I'm really excited about, but that will likely require some seriously long hours. I'm anticipating I won't be able to keep up with my current blogging schedule, at least in the beginning. I'll still be here, but it may only be once a week for awhile.  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Wow! Purple is one of the colors I never really paid any attention to (I'm a monochrome girl through and through) but those photos are really making me think twice! I LOVE the watercolor walls of that one room. So beautiful! Don't you just want to have a cocktail in that club in Glasgow? Those wingback chairs are so neat.
Great roundup of images, I can't wait to see how you incorporate this big purple plan into your home!

Congrats on the new position! Well deserved, I'm sure. Don't worry about your blogging schedule! Focus on kicking butt at the office, we'll still be here. Have a great weekend! xoxo

Wow! A lot of those rooms you chose are stunning and YES, of course I would commit to a bold colour.

What took you so long woman? I'm now curious as to how you will incorporate the colour...

Congrats on the new job! Don't worry. As Erin said, we'll be faithfully hanging around waiting for you.

Ahhh purple! I wrote a post about purple in interiors a couple of months back, and why it's so difficult to get right. I even posted your image no4! If you are going to do it, so do it BOLD, absolutely yes! The Domino mag purple is stunning as is the bathroom via Tumblr. You will let us have a look when you've made the leap? I'm so excited for you :-)

Congrats on your new position. And yes, you totally need to do something bold. I'm just getting used to adding yellow to my colour palette so I probably won't make that aggressive of a move. And thanks for visiting my blog by the way. Stop by again soon!

Wow, I never really gave purple much consideration until I saw your roundup. I especially love the fourth photo down - purple wainscoting with that beautiful wallpaper. Perfectly styled. Thanks for the eye candy.
I've been thinking about you in your new position, hoping that you're alright. As the girls said, don't worry about the blog, we'll be here whenever you can pop in. ((hugs))
