Housewarming Gifts From Jonathan Adler For Under $50

Irish Quote Print, $25, by Little Nattty, etsy.com.

Some dear friends of ours are moving into a new home this weekend and I started thinking about what I could bring them as a housewarming gift. They have a mid-century style with an industrial edge. Generally they like neutral colors, but they don't take themselves or their home too seriously. It didn't take me long to make a beeline to Jonathan Adler to find something chic and unique with a little sense of humor. As always, walking into his world is a surefire way to brighten your day and make you smile. Like a kid in a candy emporium, I wanted to take home half the store.  After browsing the fabulous wares, I found 5 great options, all under $50 and was reminded that chic decor doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for stopping by!

1.  Whale Canister, $34: I thought this would be perfect for their kids bathroom. They have one little girl and another on the way - a playful yet chic box to store hairbands and bows.

2.  Vidalia Bud Vase, $28: Although this vase can be used for a few single stems, it is fine on its own as a decorative piece that can seamlessly move from one room to another.

3. King of Hearts Candle Holder, $48: This playful candle holder has a benevolent king on one side and the compassionate queen on the other. For a couple who loves to entertain, these are guaranteed to be a dinner party hit.

4. Futura Salt and Pepper Shakers, $48: With a busy family and work life, coming home to these two lovely salt and pepper shakers will add a little glamour to an otherwise tough day - even if you are using them on a frozen pizza from Trader Joe's.

5. Pipe Match Strike, $42: Whether its a fireplace to warm a chilly beach night or a candle to fill their home with sweet-smelling air, this clever pot will guarantee they won't spend any time looking for a light.

Oh what a perfect round-up! I love finding affordable pieces in what I'd otherwise assumed was a store entirely out of my price-range. I love Anthropologie for the same reason. A $900 settee? No thank you, but a $4 latte bowl? I'll take 5. Their kitchen goods are surprisingly well priced.

I love the stuff you chose. That match strike is so sweet and harkens back to an earlier time, when men smoked pipes, haha. I'm a matchbox collector (I take a bunch from restaurants when they have them) so this would be a fun way to display them.

Have a great weekend, Jennifer! xo

Those are really nice and it is hard to find a gift under $50.
Pinterest always has sweet idea for some homemade gifty things too. Have a great weekend! Teri

I had no idea that JA had a vase for under $30. Is that lame or what? I was under the impression that all of his wares were at least $50 and up. See, you taught me something today. I might have to go out and buy that vase this weekend.
Have a great weekend, Jennifer!!

Those salt and pepper shakers are fabulous, I must have missed them during my many trips to JA's online store. I'm struggling to stop myself going to the website now and pressing the buy button. MUST STAY AWAY!

Happy weekend :-)

Oopss, am not the greatest JA fan, think I've mentioned that on T's blog once... so I will shut up:)

I do like the idea of homewarming gifts though and and would buy the No. 2 vase...

Hope you had a good weekend and that you saw my tweet about 'The Conversation".

Gotta love some JA! Those salt and pepper shakers have my name written all over them! If only they would open a store down in San Diego..

Happy Monday!

I love that print, what a lovely sentiment. In London small flats are a given, must find more friends to overfill it with! X

@Erin - I too was suprised at the reasonable price tags..I'm usually looking at bigger pieces of furniture with overwhelming price tags. The kitchen section of Anthro is one of my favorite places to shop too - I can always seem to find something pretty and cheap there to add to my house.

@Teri - I'll have to check out Pintrest for some DIY gifts and branch out a bit. Thanks for letting me know.

@Theresa - lets hit up the JA store in FI one afternoon so we can save on shipping and let the kiddos run around:)

@Sam - they are hard to resist especially because of their reasonable price tag. I'm thinking I'll bring my lunch to work this week and then hit the buy button on Friday.

@Tina - I kinda remember your distaste for JA:) No worries - that is what makes all our chats interesting. Saw your tweet about the Conversation - glad you are liking it! I've had a hard time keeping up with everything lately but am feeling like I'm almost back on track!

@Marit - Aren't those great? I'm sure its coming to SD soon. I guess your closest one would be the Newport Beach store. Have a great week!

@annie - I really love that print too! I have a great vintage wooden sign that say "Old Friends are the best friends, their welcome rings out true. When others pass you onward, you'll find they stick by you."
