Sartorial: as defined by Webster's Dictionary
1. of or pertaining to tailor's of their trade; sartorial workmanship.
2. of or pertaining to clothing or style or manner of dress; sartorial splendor.
After talking with a couple friends over the last several weeks who weren't familiar with Scott's amazing work, I decided to write about him to make sure you all have met! Scott Schuman is the author of The Sartorialist, one of the original personal style blogs which showcases both his incredible eye to spot creative and gorgeous fashion and his talent behind the camera to capture it in a stunning way. He shoots almost everyday in his New York City neighborhood (when he's not traveling to various fashion shows around the world) and captures the most stylish people on his block, and in Moscow, Paris, London, and Milan (he visits too many cities to list here). His subjects are for the most part everyday people he finds on the street (with a few fashion darlings and editors thrown in - Anna Dello Russo (Vogue Japan), Giovanna Battaglia (Italian Vogue) and Carine Roitfeld (former editor of French Vogue)) with incredible personal style. In 2009, he published his first book - The Sartorialist, which has since sold over 100,000 copies, including one to yours truly. For the last several years, I've kept it in my closet and whenever I can't figure out what to wear, I flip through his inspiring images to find a jumping off point. My regular visits to his site, which is updated almost daily, give me a fresh perspective and insight into how real people are dressing, everyday, all over the world. This past December he also traveled to Morocco and Istanbul and took some amazing photographs while there. Add him to your daily blog visits and I guarantee you will always be inspired to try something different and dress outside the box. Here are a few of his recent photos.
